Removal of sunken vessels is one of Tidewater’s fields of activities which has received more attention in the recent years. Tidewater is known as the first Iranian company to have supplied and used modern equipment for execution of marine salvage projects. Tidewater Middle East officially became one of the providers of salvage services in the Middle East region through purchasing a 1000 ton crane barge, named Arvand Tide 1000, worth 18 million dollars, early in the year 1388 (2009), in order to operationalize the largest salvage contract (removal of sunken vessels) in Iran, which consisted of removing 7 vessels sunken during the Imposed War; subsequently, the Company continued to further improve its capabilities in this field beyond the aforementioned crane by purchasing other complementary equipment and by training its workforce.
Furthermore, the Company has a track record of cooperation with well-known foreign companies in the field of salvaging. Considering the revenue potential of marine salvaging, the Tidewater Group devotes considerable attention to this field. The salvage projects performed in the waterways of Bandar Abbas, Khorramshahr, and Khor Musa Firth are among the successful projects Tidewater has undertaken in this field. The project of removal of 7 sunken vessels from the waterways of Khor Musa Firth remains an unsurpassed record in Iran in terms of removal speed.
