Dry Ports

Establishing and utilizing container terminals inside Iran, as well as making large-scale investments towards the construction of dry ports, has been among the recent activities of Tidewater. Different equipment, such as reach stalkers, container handler, different types of forklift, cranes, truck scales and container cleaning equipment are utilized in these ports, which facilitates domestic cargo transit, as well as cargo transit to the neighboring countries.

Based on the studies conducted in the first half of 1386 (2007), construction of container terminals inside Iran has become a part of the major objectives and strategies of Tidewater Middle East. Therefore, considering the fact that Tehran is the region with the highest traffic in Iran, the plan for construction of the first Inland Container Depot (ICD) with container equipment was executed in the latter half of the year 1386 (2007-2008) in Aprin Station. Aprin Station is a region located in the south of the capital (Tehran), in-between Persian Gulf Highway (Tehran – Qom Freeway) and Tehran – Saveh Highway, and has an area of over 700 hectares, owned by the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways.
